Greetings!

South Philadelphia H.O.M.E.S. Inc. is becoming more community by working with YOU! We have organized a Neighborhood Community Action Council –our outreach is to better serve you. This council’s basic goals are to promote SPH by helping the community. Supporting the organizations’ mission, advocating for SPH and do fundraising, building our capacity to better serve you. As council members we plan to have a two (2) year terms. We have twelve people, we need eight more. We are looking for a lawyer, and or professions person from the Breeze to help fill in the empty slots. As usual your interest is our mission to serve.

Our up-coming events are: a trip to Tangier Outlet & Shady Maple Buffet. March 31, 2012, tickets are $60.00 per person. For the children we will be hosting a trip to the Please Touch Museum, April 13, 2012, with a Carousel d ride, all for only $25.00. In the summer we will be planning a family trip to Clementon Lake Park. We are at the planning stage now so we cannot say more at this time.

For your information we will be submitting criteria for our Neighborhood Action Council (NAC): people that live or work in Point Breeze; have a vested in the Breeze and desire to help promote the Breeze through projects that will help growth.

Notice: South Philadelphia H.O.M.E.S. Inc . NAC is no longer funded by OHCD through the Community Development Block Grant. South Philadelphia H.O.M.E.S. Inc. is now FREE to establish our own service boundaries and our own agenda. We have always been a Neighborhood Action Council or NAC even without OHCD funding.

We will continue to provide full service to the residents of our community. These include: Share Food, Counseling, , pre-home ownership workshops, predatory lending workshops, computer classes, post-employment announcement, social service referrals, clerical services, resume writing computer usage/internet services, debit & Credit Counseling,, zoning with the PBCDC, and other services that are individual needs.
